| 15_Mediaval stained glass_Pentecost Image 516 In this 1480 stained glass panel (East Harling, Norfolk: East window, D4), the composition complements that of the Ascension panel (Image 478) in the same window (the painters probably reversed the same cartoon to plan the window). The dove of the Holy Spirit, surrounded by blue and red clouds, descends in a glory of golden rays upon the assembled Apostles who, as in the Ascension scene, remain grouped around the cetral figure of the Virgin Mary.
